EMOTION FOCUSED FAMILY THERAPY

Influenced by the theory and science of interpersonal neurobiology, the essence of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) is to support caregivers to increase their role in their loved one’s recovery from mental health issues. In fact, the EFFT clinician believes that it is most therapeutically worthwhile to empower parents to help their children, regardless of age, given that they are “wired” together. Thus, their main responsibility is to support parents to become an active agent of healing.
Embrace Life’s Challenges
Individual Therapy is tailored based on the goals of the client. This can include therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Narrative.
Underlying these all of these skill based approaches is the theoretical orientation of attachment, neurobiology and trauma informed practice.

Get the Most out of Life
Life is busy and on the go. It can be difficult to carve out the time to have a session, and arrange life around a session.
On-line sessions are performed through Zoom, a private and secure website.
Through a variety of price packages, support is offered through text and phone calls from Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Email for details.
MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS

Working closely with the client, group or company needs, mental health workshops are created to support the wellness, interpersonal skill development and overall knowledge of mental health.
Mental health literacy is quickly becoming common language within the home, schools and the work place. Equipping yourself and/or those around you with the knowledge and skills can put you as a leader in your own life and agency.
Upcoming Workshop: October 23 & 24, 2020
Inspired by Emotion-Focused Family Therapy – and with a healthy dose of humour - this evidence-based workshop will introduce practical skills to strengthen relationships, increase cooperation and respond to strong emotional reactions, including expressions of worry, anger, hopelessness, even silence. Caregivers will also be supported to identify and work through co-parenting challenges most often encountered along the way.
